A Noisy World

Yes, every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite… and I’ll tell you why…

We live in a noisy world… screens, headlines, and a thousand small distractions tugging at our attention. It’s easy to wonder where God is in all this, or to think love is just something other people get. We scroll past ~ love is a beautiful thing quotes ~ and smile for a second… but inside, something still aches.

I’ve felt that ache. I’ve asked why it seems like love is all around, for everyone else, but I’m stuck with questions, pain, and a past I didn’t choose.

No Fairy Tale

My childhood wasn’t a fairy tale. My dad struggled with alcohol and sometimes raged.

There were nights I was terrified… the yelling, the sick feeling in my stomach, even the sound of a gun.

I learned early to scan a room for danger, to brace for impact, to keep quiet.

Trauma tries to tell you a story about love that’s harsh and incomplete… what some might call incomplete love story quotes etched on your heart.

So when church folks said, “God loves you,” I believed it in my head but wrestled in my body. Where was He when it hurt? Why didn’t life look like “happily ever after”?

For a long time, I couldn’t hear Him clearly. (yes, even after I became a Christian) I faked “fine,” smiled through it, and carried the weight.

Grace Makes Room for Change

I need to add something important about my dad. When I was an older teen, he put the bottle down… and kept it down. The rages faded. Little by little, I got to know the man underneath the pain: funny, generous, protective. We rebuilt trust over the years and ended up with a genuinely amazing relationship.

I share the hard parts because they shaped me, but I refuse to freeze-frame him in his worst chapter. People are more than their wounds, and grace makes room for change. Watching his turnaround taught me that redemption is real… that hearts really can be made new.

That’s what grace looks like in real life… and it’s one reason I trust Jesus with messy stories, including mine.

Rewriting My Pages

Then Jesus began rewriting my pages. Slowly. Tenderly. Not with lightning bolts, but with presence… comfort in the middle of ordinary days. The more I brought Him the real stuff (fear, anger, questions), the more I noticed the rescue He’d been working all along.

And this is where my favorite sentence… my love note from God… comes in:

Every Love Story is Beautiful but Ours is my Favorite.

Why? Because ours is a rescue story. A “find me in the dark and lead me into light” story. Through Jesus… through love all is possible… His kind of love. He meets you where you are, heals layer by layer, and teaches your heart to trust again.

Below are simple ways I’ve learned to notice Him and live the truest of my love story… even in a world at war.

How I Notice God in Ordinary Days

1) A one-minute pause.
Hand on heart. “Jesus, I give everyone and everything to You.” Breathe out the fear; breathe in His peace. (When prayer feels quiet, one minute makes space.)

2) Breath prayer for hard moments.
Inhale: “You are with me.” Exhale: “I am not alone.” Repeat until your shoulders drop.

3) Scripture, spoken out loud.
Reading is good; saying it is grounding. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Say it until your nervous system believes it.
For more about speaking scripture out loud, see How to change your mindset.

4) Gentle journaling.
One honest line a day: “Today I need…” or “Today I noticed…” These become our love story quotes between you and God.
Go here for journal prompts.

5) Touch the earth.
Bare feet in the grass, face in the sun. Let creation remind your body that love is everywhere… because He is.
Here’s more info on earthing and grounding.

6) Look for the rescue.
A well-timed phone call. A parking spot when you’re late. A doctor who actually listens. Little mercies are not little; they’re stitches of grace.

If Your Past Makes Love Hard

You’re not broken beyond repair. You’re loved into restoration. If your history taught you to brace, Jesus will teach you to breathe. If your memories told you you’re too much or not enough, He will tell you who you are… chosen, seen, held. I too had a love story that looked like ruins… and He rebuilt it.

The Greatest Love Story (Why Ours Is My Favorite)

Before anything else, this is the heart of it: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Sin separates us from a holy God, and no amount of trying harder can bridge that gap. Jesus… fully God, fully man… lived without sin, died on the cross in our place, and rose again so we could be forgiven… Salvation isn’t earned; it’s a gift of grace received by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).

That’s why every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite… because it’s a rescue, paid for by Jesus.

How to Say Yes to Jesus (Right Now)

every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite. a womans folded hands resting on an open Bible like she's praying.

Admit you need Him. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Believe He is Lord and rose from the dead. “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Confess/Receive His forgiveness. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us.” (1 John 1:9)

A Simple Prayer to Pray to Accept Jesus:
“Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins, my self-centeredness, and every part of my life that does not please you. I choose you. I give myself to you. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in my life as my Savior and Lord. Come reign in my heart, fill me with your love and your life, and help me to become a person who is truly loving… a person like you. Restore me, Jesus. Live in me. Love through me. Thank you, God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

What’s next?

  • Tell someone and ask for prayer.
  • Open your Bible to the Gospel of John and read a little each day.
  • Talk to God daily… honestly.
  • Find a Bible believing church where you can grow and be baptized (when you’re ready)… OR find a Bible believing gathering online… I’m serious (in today’s world, we can do stuff online). The Brilliant app has amazing online gatherings… also, visit Wild at Heart online… I love their teachings and they have a lot of resources on their YouTube channel!

  • Logos Bible Study App… If you want to go deeper with Scripture without feeling overwhelmed, Logos makes it simple: open a verse, and instantly see study notes, cross-references, word studies, and trusted commentaries side-by-side. Create reading plans, save highlights, and keep everything synced on your phone and desktop. The free version is pretty fantastic and genuinely useful… and you can add resources over time.
  • 3) The Brilliant App… Scripture-soaked encouragement that renews your mind so you can live loved.
  • 4) Faith and Action Bundle (for entrepreneurs)… If you’re building a business with Jesus, these short PDFs help you set God-led goals, conquer procrastination, and work from peace… not pressure.

(None of these are “fix it fast.” They’re simple ways to meet the God who already loves you.)

Final Thoughts

Friend, you don’t need a picture perfect life to have a beautiful love story. You need a present Savior. He’s here. He’s been here. And He’s still writing. When the world shouts “perform,” Jesus whispers “come.” When the enemy says “you’re on your own,” Jesus answers “I am with you.”

Every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite… not because it’s easy, but because it’s real, redeemed, and held together by a Love that never lets go.

If you need a sign today, let this be it: You are not forgotten. Your story is not over. And the Author… He loves you.

Until next time…

All my love,

SusieQ
