Make the World Disappear…
Today I woke up with a migraine and no motivation. I wanted to crawl under the covers and make the world disappear. If that is you too, I get it.
When life feels heavy, even small tasks feel huge. You ask yourself, how are you feeling, and the honest answer is… not feeling well. You might be feeling off, feeling lost, or even battling the ache of when you feel unwanted.
I used to avoid the hard days. I would say, “Tomorrow I will try again,” but my heart stayed tired. Friends would send quotes when feeling down or short meaningful quotes. I loved the kindness, but I still needed a gentle plan.
Please hear me out… when your body and soul are weary, simple coping skills matter.
They protect your mental and emotional health and your emotional health while you heal.

If Your Feeling Down…
Here is what I do when I am having a hard day. These are tiny steps you can keep even when you feel tender.
When You’re Down And Out… Start Here
- Breathe
In for four… out for six. Put a hand on your heart. Whisper, “God, hold me.” These are words to make you feel better when the noise is loud. For extra help, see these 11 breath prayers. - Sunlight or soft light
One minute by a window. If you can, step outside for two minutes. - Water and one small bite
Sips first, then a gentle snack. - One honest line
In a journal or notes app, write how im feeling now in one sentence. That is it. - Ask for kindness
Text someone safe. Use this script: “I am having a heavy day… can you pray for me or check in later” - One tiny win
Choose one micro task, like “start the dishwasher” or “reply to one message.” Celebrate it.
Five One-Line Prayers Or Prompts
- “Jesus, hold my heavy heart.”
- “Today I need… courage to try one small thing.”
- “I feel unseen… help me remember: feeling wanted by You.”
- “I am feeling lost… show me one next step.”
- “I am tired… give me rest and peace.”
Gentle Scripts For Checking In
- “How are you feeling right now… want me to listen for five minutes”
- “I cannot fix it, but I can sit with you. Want a call later”
- “I care about you… can I send you a few quotes deep meaningful, that comfort me”
If Your Thoughts Race At Night
- Set a 10 minute timer… breathe, stretch, or pray.
- Read one Psalm out loud.
- Keep a “worry list” by the bed. Write it down so your brain can rest.
- In the morning, choose one small thing and begin.
A Short Conversation Between Two Friends
Friend A: “I am really low today.”
Friend B: “I hear you. when you are feeling down, would you like me to call or just sit with you by text”
Friend A: “Text is good… one check in later would help.”
Friend B: “Okay. I will check in at 7. You are not alone.”
Gentle Helps I Use
- A quiet corner with soft worship music… five minutes to breathe.
- A five line journal page… “Today I noticed… Today I need… I am grateful for…”
- Short walks outside… even two minutes count. Barefoot is even better! Check out what is earthing and grounding?
- Truth on repeat… write a few good conversation quotes or verses on cards and keep them close.
Favorites I Use That Truly Help
- Faith and Action Bundle… small faith first routines for strength on low days. It gives structure when motivation for feeling down is thin.
- An indoor grounding pillowcover or grounding mat… for calm on rest days when you stay inside.
- Pinterest Marketing Academy… when you feel ready to take one gentle step in your business again, with support and clarity.
Tiny List Of Hope
- You are not a burden.
- Rest is holy.
- Starting small counts.
- God sees, God stays, God cares.
Final Thoughts
Friend, when you’re down and out, you do not have to fix your whole life today. Choose one breath, one sip of water, one honest line, one safe person. When you feel lost… if this is your story tonight, I promise there is still light for you. Tomorrow will come. Little seeds of hope grow… even in quiet soil.
Until next time…
