Chronically Busy!
Let’s be honest… we’ve all heard it before: “No one is too busy. It’s just a matter of priorities.”
And yet… we are busy. Frantically, endlessly, chronically busy.
From the moment the alarm clock goes off, it feels like life is screaming at us to go faster, do more, and somehow be everything to everyone.
Here’s the hard truth… every single person on this planet, from Adam and Eve to you and me right now, has had the exact same amount of time in a day. The difference isn’t the number of hours… it’s what we choose to fill them with.
Busy Has Become the Default
I used to tell myself I’m busy like it was a badge of honor.
I said yes to every request, every event, every “quick favor.”
But somewhere along the way, I realized that “busy” wasn’t a sign of importance… it was a sign of imbalance.

We’re filling our days with busy nonsense, numbing ourselves with endless scrolling, and forgetting what truly matters.
We don’t know how to say no. We’re bombarded with stimulation from every direction, and we’ve trained our brains to live in a constant state of hurry.
And here’s the kicker: Nobody is perfect.
Not everyone will like you when you start setting boundaries.
And honestly?
Being nice gets you nowhere if “nice” means overcommitting, saying “yes” when you really want to say “no,” and putting everyone else’s needs ahead of your own.
I’m not saying to stop being kind… far from it. But there’s a huge difference between kindness and losing yourself in the process. Not everyone will like you, and that’s okay. You can’t be everything to everyone, and I’m busy isn’t a bad thing if it means you’re protecting your time, energy, and mental health.
My Wake-Up Call
I hit a breaking point one night when I couldn’t fall asleep.
My mind was racing with the too busy for me thoughts… a never-ending to-do list, people I didn’t want to disappoint, the guilt of not doing enough.
Sound familiar?
Maybe you’ve been there too… lying in the dark, desperately wishing your brain had an “off” switch.
That night, I realized something had to change.
I couldn’t keep burning myself out and expecting my body, mind, and spirit to just bounce back.

The Shift: Choosing Stillness Over Chaos
Here’s what I started doing instead:
- Sitting with God… not asking for anything, not trying to “be productive,” just being still and letting His peace wash over me. On days when it’s hard to quiet my mind, the Brilliant app has been a beautiful way to pour truth and encouragement into my spirit.
- Going outside barefoot… yes, actually taking my shoes and socks off and touching the earth. Grounding myself in nature and remembering what real calm feels like.
I love this practice so much that I now use indoor grounding products, but I only trust this company. - Breathing deeply in fresh air… because oxygen is free, and slowing down is a choice I can make at any moment.
It’s simple, but it’s not easy… because the world will keep telling you to go faster. To expect more from yourself. To keep saying yes until you’re stretched paper thin.
No One is Too Busy…
Here’s the truth about time…
No one is too busy… but we live in a culture that wants you to believe otherwise.
Your worth isn’t measured by how many boxes you check off in a day or how little sleep you can survive on.
The next time you catch yourself saying I’m busy, ask: “Busy doing what?”
If the answer doesn’t align with your values, your faith, or the kind of life you want to live… it’s time to make changes.
Because here’s the reality: you only have yourself when the world quiets down at night. And you deserve to live in a way that lets you breathe, rest, and be fully present.

Final Thoughts
Friend, I don’t have a quick-fix “5 steps to slow down” for you.
But I do have this reminder: it’s okay to let go of things that drain you. It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to expect nothing from others if it protects your peace.
We live in a time where instant everything has made us forget how to just be.
But you can choose differently. You can reclaim your time. You can choose stillness.
And maybe… just maybe… if enough of us do that, the world will slow down with us.
Until next time…
