I Felt Small…
Great news… how to claim your website on pinterest is simple. Just follow this slow and steady path.
Starting on Pinterest can feel like opening a hundred tiny doors at once. And: how to claim website on Pinterest? Seriously? I remember staring at the screen thinking, I do not even know what to click.
I wanted my pins to point back to my blog, but I kept seeing words like “claim” and “verify” and I felt small. If you have ever felt that too… you are not alone.
When your site is not claimed, Pinterest does not fully connect your content to your profile. You miss helpful analytics and your profile looks less trustworthy to new visitors.
Claiming is the tiny hinge that helps your pins and your profile feel like one home. Pinterest even shows how much is saved from your claimed website inside Pinterest Analytics… that data can guide your next step with confidence.

Here’s a simple step-by-step…
How to Claim Your Website on Pinterest
Step 1: Check Your Account Type
You will need a Pinterest business account. If you have a personal account, you can convert it in settings in a few taps.

It only takes a minute.
You can go here to read how to, or see below.
Creating an account means you accept Pinterest’s Business Terms of Service and Privacy Policy .
- Log into your personal Pinterest account
- Click the ⚙️ icon at the bottom left of your screen
- Select Settings
- Click Account management at the left of the screen
- Find the Convert to a business account option
- Click Convert account
- Fill out the fields to Build your profile, then click Next
- Fill out the fields to Describe your business, then click Next
- Select if you want to run ads, then click Next
- Select where you’d like to start… or click the ✖️ icon to go to your converted Pinterest business account
Step 2: Open “Claimed Accounts”
Log in to Pinterest, open Settings, choose Claimed external accounts, then click Claim next to Websites. You will see options to verify, usually a DNS TXT record, sometimes an HTML tag or an HTML file.
Step 3: Add The Code To Your Site
Pick the method Pinterest shows you:
- DNS TXT record… paste the exact TXT value at your domain host, then save.
- HTML tag… paste the tag into your site
<head>, save, and publish. - HTML file… upload the provided file to your site root, then continue in Pinterest.

Step 4: Click Verify In Pinterest
Return to Claimed accounts and click to finish Pinterest website verification. If it does not flip green right away, breathe… DNS changes can take a bit to show up. Check back soon.

What You Unlock
Once your site is claimed, Pinterest Analytics lets you see what people save from your website. This helps you make better pins and posts for real readers. It also adds trust signals to your profile so newcomers feel safe exploring your content.
My Story, For Courage
I claimed my site on a day I almost quit. Fever, tissues, and that “why is this so hard” feeling. I clicked the wrong thing twice, then finally saw the little success check. It felt silly to cry over a little globe with a checkmark… but that one tiny win gave me momentum. If you are tired today, let this be your globe and checkmark moment. You can do hard things in small steps.
Quick Troubleshooting
- Double check the exact TXT or tag value. One missing character can break it.
- Clear your caching plugin, then try again.
- If your host blocks TXT records, choose the HTML tag or file method instead.
With the tech part done, you can move into creation… brainstorm content ideas, test online business ideas, and follow a quick walkthrough on how to upload videos on Pinterest. Those small actions add up. You will see patterns for how to earn from Pinterest, you will spot simple digital products to sell, and you will learn how to get more followers on Pinterest by showing up with kindness and value.

Final Thoughts
Beginners win by doing the next right thing, not every thing. Claim your site, take a sip of tea, and let yourself feel proud. Your work matters… and your people are already searching for the hope you carry.
Until next time…
