đ¨âđŠâđ§âđŚ Step 5
Feeling Stuck When it Comes to Finding a Niche?
You are not alone. In fact, this one step kept me spinning my wheels for years. This is where the Survival Trap is the most dangerous. I spent years spinning my wheels because I was frozen by the fear of picking the ‘wrong’ niche. I was so worried about boxing myself in that I never actually got started.
If you feel paralyzed by this choice, you aren’t ‘bad at business’… you’re just stuck in the freeze. I wanted to start an online business so badly… I knew I had a message and a mission… but because I couldnât figure out who I was talking to, I never really got started. And without a niche, you’ll constantly be spinning your wheels.
If thatâs where you are right now, let me help you take the next step forward. How do you find your niche market? We’re going to keep it simple, because thatâs what I needed when I was just starting out.
What is a Niche, Anyhow?
Think of it as your little corner of the internet. Itâs a specific group of people who need something you understand… something youâve been through, figured out, or have a passion for.

For me, the lightbulb moment was this:
đ âMy niche is the version of me a few steps ago.â
Your niche isn’t just a category on a website; it’s a mission to reach back and help the person who is still where you used to be. When you realize your goal is to help them get Unfrozen, the technical details of ‘marketing’ suddenly become a conversation of the heart.
Try asking:
- What challenge did I grow through?
- What problem gets me fired up?
- Who do I naturally want to support?
Thatâs your starting place. My audience became women of faith over 40 whoâve battled health issues, want income from home, but feel overwhelmed by tech. Why? Because that was me.
I market to the person I used to be.
Why You Need to Know ‘WHO You Are Talking to’… Before You Post on Pinterest
If youâre using Pinterest for business (like we talked about in Step 3), then you need to know who youâre talking to. Every blog post, product, or pin should speak to them.
When you stop speaking to âeveryone,â the ‘right someone’ finally hears you.
How Do YOU Find Your Niche Market?
How to find your niche shouldn’t be super complicated… This is how I found my people (and you can too)…
Like I said, I struggled for years trying to figure this part out. Everyone made it sound so complicated. I watched videos, took courses… (wasted lots of money), downloaded worksheets… and still felt lost. Until I did two things…
Hereâs what finally made the difference:
- I simplified it.
I asked: What have I overcome that others are still wrestling with?
(How would I help the ‘old me’ from 5 years ago?)
Then, I did this: đ - I actually used ChatGPT.
When I first started trying to figure out my niche and what to pin, I was so stuck in ‘survival mode’ that I couldn’t even think straight. My brain was just tired. I knew I needed help, but I was in a spot where I couldn’t even afford the $20 a month for the ‘pro’ version.
So, I used the free version. Even with its limitations, it became my ‘biz bestie’… a place where I could dump my messy thoughts and get some clarity. Itâs what helped me find my footing when I was still frozen… I even found my avatar (my ideal customer), by the way… her name is Lisa… Now when I create anything, I can picture her, and itâs SO much easier!

đ ď¸ The “Secret Weapon” for Moving from Freeze to Flow
Most people get stuck here because they are trying to do all the heavy lifting themselves. You might have used the free ChatGPT version I mentioned above, which is a great “Biz Bestie” for quick ideas. But to truly break through the Freeze, I eventually upgraded to a highly specialized Research Assistant.
Think of it this way: Basic AI is like a library… it has all the information but you have to know exactly what book to ask for. My specialty AI Assistant is more like a Strategic Partner. It doesn’t just “give info”… it helps me:
- Brainstorm “Lisa” Traits:Â It helped me take my messy thoughts and define exactly who my avatar is, what she’s afraid of, and what she’s praying for.
- Narrow the Fog:Â Instead of looking at 50 different niches, it helped me narrow it down to the “Abundance and Pure Living” path that aligns with my values.
- The “Blank Page” Solution:Â When I don’t know what to write next, we “talk it out” together until the momentum returns.
If youâre ready to move from “thinking about it” to actually building it, you can invite this Research Assistant into your business here. Itâs the engine that keeps my “Abundance Engine” running! (#ad)
But I want you to know: It is okay to start for free. If you are in that spot where every dollar counts, use the free version of ChatGPT to find your ‘Lisa.’ Then, when you’ve built your foundation and the abundance starts flowing, you can upgrade your tools. The goal isn’t to have the most expensive setup… the goal is to get Unfrozen.
đ Journal Prompts to Clarify Your Audience
If youâre still stuck, try these:
- What advice do I love giving?
- What YouTube videos or blogs do I always click?
- What do people constantly ask me about?
- What experience changed me? (that could help someone else)
- What could I talk about for hours?
- What content feels fun or meaningful to share?
- What have I researched endlessly?
- Whatâs something Iâve learned the hard way?
- What kind of products do I love to recommend?
- Who do I naturally connect with?
For example, my niche is Pure Living and Abundance. It’s about more than just ‘organic food’ or ‘making money’… it’s about breaking the cycle of being sick and poor so we can live the life we were called to live. It’s a niche built on my Values, which makes it much harder for an algorithm change to ever freeze my business again.

The “Lifestyle” Niche: You Are the Expert of Your Own Home
If youâre still feeling “Frozen” trying to pick a niche, remember this: you donât have to be a professor to be helpful.
A perfect example of this is how I approach the Amazon Influencer Program. My “niche” isn’t complicated… it’s simply reviewing the products I already use and love in my daily life. Whether itâs non-toxic cleaning supplies or my favorite kitchen gadgets, I am the “expert” of what works for my family.
If you can talk about why you like your coffee maker or how a specific supplement helped your energy, you have a niche.
Need Help Getting Unstuck?
If you’re still feeling overwhelmed or unsure about your niche, you’re not alone. One of the most helpful resources I’ve found is the Fearless Influencer Academy.
Itâs a faith-based, step by step program that helps you build clarity, confidence, and a content plan… without the burnout. đ
đ¸ Ready to see the full path? You don’t have to do this alone. Check out my Roadmap on the Start Here page. Itâs my gift to you, to help you visualize every step of your journey from the ‘Survival Trap’ to your very own ‘Abundance Engine.’

- The Greatest Miracle in the World (Identity)

Final Thoughts
Finding your niche isnât about boxing yourself in.

Itâs about showing up clearly for the person who needs you right now. You can always grow and evolve, but having direction today means momentum tomorrow.
Still unsure? Donât hesitate to talk it out… with a mentor, a friend… or even ChatGPT (seriously… it helped me so much).
You donât have to have it all figured out. Just take the next step.
Finding your niche is the moment you stop reacting to the world and start building your Abundance Engine. It gives your pins, your posts, and your emails a destination.
You don’t have to have the whole map figured out to start… you just have to be willing to be the light for someone else’s next step.
Youâve got this.
